My name is Catherine Shi and I am currently a third-year bioengineering: biotech student at the University of California, San Diego. I currently work as Web Assistant for the Department of NanoEngineering.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking and putting on dinner and dessert parties. I love foods with high visual impact. I am very proud of my cheesecake adaptation from Emeril Lagasse’s original recipe and I am extremely sad to report that my last attempt with my Martha Stewart Igloo-shaped cake mold was unsuccessful. I also love going to the beach (even better if it’s a picnic on the beach), shopping with girlfriends, and reading good books. Since both my boyfriend, Paul, and I have very sensitive skin, I am also really interested in skincare and cosmetics ingredients, and have tried my hand (successfully! I might add) at making my own moisturizers. Paul jokingly calls me his “little chemic.”
